Kishor Biyani correctly guessed the need of Indian consumers. If you want to understand the evolution of modern retail in India, this book will be a help. The book has eight chapters, but could be divided into three distinct parts: Therefore, we pick up some activity that we like doing and call it our profession.
The book also discusses the management style and organization issues of the group.

He was, however, facing a threat from the much larger resources of conglomerates such as Aditya Birla Group and Reliance Industriesboth of whom boyani signalled an intention to move into the retail sector.
It speaks volumes on changing Indian consumerism and effective means of capitalizing on that.

Known for a thrifty approach to running his businesses, with precepts such as modest corporate travel and hospitality arrangements,  Biyani has acknowledged the role of luck in his business success at this time, which he says was the coincidence of his ambitious ideas and the growth of an Indian middle-class with disposable income to spend.

Overall its a good book to read!! Kushore addition to the threat posed by the conglomerates, the economic downturn affected Biyani’s business and his methods. At the same time its also a good management book with anecdotes which shed light on various management related topics. His success continued with the opening of a series of stores under the Big Bazaar brand name from A must-read for any entrepreneur who wants to make it big – which is just about anybody these days.

Kishoreji has been a startup guy way before it was cool, he innovated and experimented across various formats, he is responsible for setting trends and all this comes from a typical Marwari businessman which is surprising. The short narrations by various stakeholders attached to the business make the book interesting. Good informative biyami, but gets repetitive and sometimes a tad boring.
